In semi-arid Santa Barbara, the importance of conserving water literally comes with the territory. We’re experts in water efficiency, which begins with using less-thirsty native plants wherever we can. Our custom irrigation systems add another level of efficiency, especially when partnered with an evapotranspiration, or ET, controller. Combining satellite weather information and wireless communication, this easy-to-use, up-to-the-minute technology ensures our clients that their landscapes receive neither more nor less than exactly the amount of water they need. Enviroscaping crews were involved in the multi-year testing of the systems that took place before they were sold, so our clients know that we’ll install ETs correctly and maintain them perfectly.

As an associate engineer for the Goleta Water District, I met Lalo Mora when we worked together on a demonstration garden for drought-resistant plants. He was a great partner, and not only because of his extensive knowledge. At the time, one of my family members was seriously ill, and there were a couple of times when I couldn’t be there to do my work on the project. Lalo told me, “Do what you have to do. I’ll take care of it.” And he did. He came in on Saturday, off the clock, to fill in for me. It shows you the kind of character he has. We were also on a tight budget, but if Lalo thought something should be replaced in the garden, he put it in – on his budget, not ours. Another example of the man’s character.
